About The Position

We are seeking a talented and driven summer intern for our Development Team. The work performed by RMR’s Development Team spans all major regions of the United States and involves all major asset classes, including mixed-use, multifamily, hotel, industrial, retail, office, and life science. This is a dynamic, highly collaborative group that undertakes project scales that range from large, master-planned urban neighborhoods to standalone retail structures. As a part of this forward facing, high-performing team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most accomplished real estate professionals in the industry and get exposure to the skills necessary to become a well-rounded real estate developer. Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in real estate development.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Currently a student at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Yardi and ARGUS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with property and market research.
  • Conduct “highest and best use” analysis to identify potential development opportunities within the RMR portfolio.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with project teams, thereby gaining exposure to all aspects of the development life cycle, including project feasibility, financial analysis, architecture/design/urban planning, government permitting/approvals, capital sourcing, leasing and construction.
  • Provide support to senior leadership with respect to development-related updates and presentation materials.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver end-of-summer presentation to the Development Team regarding a development-related issue.
  • Gather and evaluate diligence materials for development projects.
  • Provide reception desk coverage on a rotating basis.
