Introduction to Medical Device Design Control methods for both product development and design change processes. Student will contribute to development and creation of Design Development, Design Outputs, Verification & Validation Testing, and Transfer to Production. A key objective will be an introduction to robust product development processes and the regulatory framework of Design Control.

  • Engineering Student supports R D Engineers in the creation and the development of endovascular harvesting and beating heart surgery devices.
  • Performs testing, collects, and analyzes test data.
  • Participates in design & development activities.
  • Performs design activities using CAD, creates drawings and drawing changes, evaluates prototypes, and may perform engineering analysis.
  • Supports test planning and writing test protocols. Contributes to design and fabrication of test fixtures.
  • Helps prepare test reports, attends engineering meetings and reviews/captures meeting minutes.
  • Set up and run 3-D printing equipment.
  • Perform dimensional measurement of components.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration of instruments.
  • Minimum of 2 full years of education in an engineering curriculum. Mechanical, Electrical, and Biomedical Engineering required.
  • Advanced proficiency: Experience with Solid Works CAD, and familiarity in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a hands-on approach.
