About The Position

We are currently hiring R&D Undergrad Interns to join our TITANS: Math & Analytics team for Summer 2026! Qualified candidates will be part of a larger family of intern institutes, namely Technical Internships To Advance National Security (TITANS) focused solely on Cybersecurity, Software, and Math and Analytics. TITANS: Math & Analytics is seeking students who want to have a career using their math and analytics skills. We are focused on developing the next generation of experts in the math and analytics for national security applications. Skills used in the internship are math, analytics and data science, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, but work is almost always dedicated to applied research and development in one or more of Sandia's many mission areas. An R&D mentality, strong computer science skills, and proficiency in at least one programming language will ensure success in this internship. Project types may include: Computational image/audio processing Natural language processing Time series and multidimensional data modeling Statistical functional data analysis Implementing Artificial Intelligence Workflows Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Requirements

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • Working knowledge and understanding of an engineering or science-related field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant SEM disciplines
  • R&D experience including project work, technical presentations and/or publications
