ELS is hiring for the position of Intern - Public Relations and Social Media in Chicago, Illinois. What you'll do: During the ELS internship, you will work in a collaborative, fast-paced company right in the heart of downtown Chicago. Our internship program is robust and you will be involved in meaningful projects that have a true impact upon the business. We also offer intern-specific activities, including lunch & learns, a group project and presentation to our executive team, networking opportunities and meet & greets with executives. Of course, our interns will also be a part of our summer company-wide social events!
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program working towards a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Marketing
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
- Demonstrates problem solving skills in customer focused environment
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Responsibilities
- Build upon our library of PR Pitches and articles.
- Assist in generating recognition and media coverage through awards like Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.
- Monitor and record press coverage that mention our properties and brands.
- Monitor social media platforms and initiatives in conjunction with social media team, marketing, and operations teams
- Continue to expand the reach of customer engagement
- Use social media tools for communication with ELS’s target audience
- Identify and respond accordingly to interactions that may arise on social media forums
- Assist in growing the #100DaysofCamping campaign
- Report on social media activity and results
- Monitor brand conversations and recognize social opportunities as they arise
- Create relationships with social media influencers
- Monitor third party review sites (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.) and report on findings
