About The Position

The Higher Education and Workforce Development Intern role provides critical program support, program content development, data management, and partner outreach. This position will help ensure the smooth execution of events, effective stakeholder communication, accurate data tracking, and up-to-date digital and presentation materials that support program goals. This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in helping Educate Texas and the Communities Foundation of Texas expand and grow the impact of our work throughout Texas. This position will provide day-to-day cross-team collaborative support to engage practitioners, policymakers, partners, and funders, providing exemplary organizational service, event planning support, and additional key responsibilities including:

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a four-year accredited college, university, or graduate program with good academic standing.
  • Basic understanding of working in a hybrid environment, workplace ethics, and effective communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and planning abilities, with a track record of effectively coordinating, facilitating, and implementing projects in previous work or academic settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to analyze and synthesize information for effective problem-solving, are highly valued.
  • A passion for nonprofit partnership in the community.
  • Effectively model and demonstrate CFT’s core competencies, which include Collaboration, Impact and Problem Solving, Integrity and Accountability, Learning, and Internal and External Service.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of educational workshops, network learning events, and other program activities.
  • Develop, organize, and update materials, tools, and resources for Higher Education and Workforce programs.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize program data from partners across school districts, colleges, universities, and workforce organizations.
  • Create content for social media, newsletters, and flyers to increase engagement and promote higher education and workforce programs.
