As part of a highly collaborative team of biologist and chemists the candidate would be involved in projects to identify and test novel targets for their potential anti-tumor activity. The candidate will gain broad experience with siRNA gene silencing approaches and the opportunity to learn and support activities in the oncology team with focuson on evaluating combinational therapies in cancer cells. The individual should be passionate about scientific discovery, and eager to learn new skills and contribute to the success of the organization. There will be the opportunity to collaborate with team members throughout the research organization to progress drug discovery efforts, contributing to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork, innovation and transparency. Learning Outcomes 1. Gain expertise in cellular oncology models, including functional and phenotypic assays such gene expression, protein quantitation and cytotoxicity assessment. 2. Direct experience and proficiency in standard tissue culture and molecular/cell biology techniques (aseptic techniques, Western blot, qPCR, ELISA, cytotoxicity assays etc.). 3. Opportunity to develop good record keeping abilities, organizational skills, expand critical thinking skills and gain experience in communicating experimental data and progress updates in team meetings.
