AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview The Microns Process Optimization Intern will support manufacturing efficiency and throughput improvements across the Microns production line, with primary assignment to the Skins manufacturing process (solar and RF skins). This role focuses on analyzing end-to-end production flow, identifying bottlenecks and process starvation, and implementing data-driven improvements to increase output and reduce downtime. The intern will collect and analyze production metrics, evaluate cycle times, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to streamline operations. The primary objective is to improve productivity, targeting a minimum 20% increase in throughput while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance. This position provides hands-on exposure to aerospace hardware manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.
