About The Position

The Intern, Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for working under the direction of engineering team members in supporting development of new systems, supporting existing designs, supporting operations, and working across all business functions to define and deliver innovative refrigeration systems. An engineering mindset and ability to learn about mechanical, mechatronics and thermal technologies will be essential to facilitate a “first to market” approach to develop and launch innovative products to be utilized in healthcare, university, pharmaceutical, bio-tech, government and industrial facilities. The Intern - Mechanical Engineer will work with engineering team members to establish a solid engineering function capable of rapid product development and innovation to realize best in class product and speed to market.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, mechatronics, or similar program at an accredited university
  • Previous engineering or professional experience preferred but not required
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of 3D design software highly recommended but not required
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate rapidly and effectively within the organization and to represent the company in professional manner
  • Must be willing and able to independently pursue assignments with maximum problem-solving resolve and minimal supervision, but must also readily ask for direction and help when needed
  • Ability to shift priorities as needed and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and utilize tools in a shop or lab environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous engineering or professional experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of 3D design software highly recommended but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new systems and update existing designs through computer aided design tools.
  • Setup, monitoring, and takedown of various equipment for in-house laboratory tests, including but not limited to temperature mapping, energy usage, and function tests.
  • Work cross-functionally to support ongoing engineering team projects from ideation to production.
  • Support completion of project documentation including drawings, bill of materials, manuals, test specifications, change notices, etc.
