About The Position

Lanteris Space is seeking a Manufacturing and Production Engineering Intern to support hardware production operations at our contract manufacturing partner in San Jose. This hands-on role provides direct exposure to aerospace hardware production and manufacturing execution. The intern will work side-by-side with the onsite Engineering Supervisor to support day-to-day production activities, process improvement efforts, and cross-functional coordination between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering student to gain real-world experience in a production environment supporting flight or mission-critical hardware.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with two or more years completed or a Master’s degree program in: Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline

• Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional engineering team
• Interest in aerospace, manufacturing, or systems engineering
• Exposure to or interest in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a production environment
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

• Support hardware production activities in Bus Electronics (BEM)
• Assist with production planning, and shop floor support
• Help track production status, material flow, and build readiness
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for production issues
• Interface with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams as needed
• Assist with documentation (work instructions updates), metrics tracking, and production reporting
