As an Intern Junior within the Primary Care division—serving Children’s Medical Group and Children’s Wisconsin Urgent Care—you’ll gain hands-on experience in healthcare supply chain operations while contributing to the systems that help our teams deliver exceptional care to kids and families. 💙 About the Role 📊 You’ll assist in the development and submission of annual operational budgets across multiple cost centers and collaborate with leaders across the organization. This internship is designed to help you build real-world skills, strengthen your analytical abilities, and explore the full landscape of supply chain in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • Completion of at least one year of a degree program in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Foundational knowledge of logistics, purchasing, business management principles, and business math.
  • A high level of accountability, service orientation, and responsiveness to department needs.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software including Outlook, Excel, and Word

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Access and PowerPoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare data to support inventory control activities (PAR levels, units of measure, cycle counts, etc.).
  • Partner with department leaders to review, document, and improve current processes and procedures.
  • Assist in developing new reports and dashboards that drive operational insights.
  • Support the build-out of the Workday Strategic Sourcing contracts database.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Warehousing, Invasive Services, Sourcing, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to gain a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare supply chain.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned.
