In our decentralized environment there are few layers of management, with opportunities for advancement. About this Internship ELLWOOD has an opening for a summer IT internship. The IT Intern will directly provide support and assist the IT Team with a wide range of projects to include assessing IT and assist with various programming projects. The internship is in our IS Department in New Castle, PA. It is a temporary, non-exempt hourly position. The hours will be Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch. The IS Intern will support the IS Department and learn the practical application of, and be responsible for, the following functions, including but not limited to: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES : Provide administrative support for the IT Department. Assess IT and programming issues. Assist the IT Department by learning various programming platforms. Working with various teams, document specific reporting requirements and then design and develop those dashboards using SQL or a BI tool Work on various information technology programming projects and initiatives. Assist in the design of star schemas and relation data models that ensure “one version of the truth” across the business. Develop Python or R scripts to automate manual reporting tasks and improve data integrity Meet attendance requirements; and Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of college within Information Tech, Computer Science major or related field.
  • Completed at least one (1) year of entry level related courses.
  • Computer experience with: Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Snowflake), BI Tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik), SQL, Python / R, and AI tools.
  • Passion for all things related to technology.
  • Understanding of relational data modeling principles
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Analytical and detail oriented with both an interest and aptitude to work in IT
  • Good human relations skills, including strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently (self-directed).
  • Ability to adjust to continuously changing environment.
  • Ability to travel regionally; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required
