About The Position

Join Nelnet as an intern and do real work that matters to our business. The Project Manager Intern supports the planning, execution, and delivery of technology and business initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in project coordination, stakeholder communication, and risk management. Interns will work closely with experienced project managers and cross-functional teams to gain exposure to Agile practices, project lifecycle management, and enterprise systems.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration platforms.

• General understanding of project management principles and lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Experience working on team-based projects (academic, personal, or volunteer).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and tracking project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
• Participate in process development and documentation efforts to support project management best practices.
• Help maintain project documentation including risk registers, requirements traceability, and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, development, and compliance.
• Support integration efforts across systems such as websites, servicing platforms, and cloud environments.
• Contribute to issue resolution and change management activities.
• Learn and apply Agile and SDLC principles in real-world scenarios.
• Attend intern professional, personal, and social development events.
