About The Position

Martin Marietta, a member of the SP 500 Index, is a leading supplier of building materials, including aggregates, cement, ready mixed concrete, and asphalt. We are seeking an intern for our Internal Audit team at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. This role is not remote, and candidates will be expected to come into the office daily. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning new skills and who possess a high drive to succeed and excel for success and excellence.

Requirements

• Accounting or Finance major with a minimum 3.25 GPA
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate closely with team members and various operations and corporate personnel
• Analytical and inquisitive mindset
• Growth mindset with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly learn and become comfortable using new systems and technology
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

• Assist audit team members in various audit assignments
• Gain an understanding of data analysis in support of audit planning, execution, and reporting
• Execute audit assignments in a timely manner
• Apply professional accounting and auditing principles in various audits
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and reliability of data
• Evaluate adherence to internal policies/procedures and regulatory compliance
• Create effective working relationships with operational and functional management
