From headquarters in San Diego and offices around the world, pSemi’s team explores new ways to make electronics for the connected world smaller, thinner, faster and better.  Job Summary The candidate will support pSemi’s IP & Technology Licensing team.   The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting pSemi’s IP & Technology Licensing team in managing and protecting innovations across our semiconductor technology portfolio. This role provides exposure to both the technical and legal aspects of intellectual property management, including patent portfolio administration, prosecution support, and the application of AI-driven tools to enhance IP processes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits (including basic RF transceivers)
  • Interest in semiconductors
  • Interest in Intellectual Property (Patents)
  • Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (must be completing 3+ year) or MS or PhD candidate

  • Pursuing (or intent to pursue) JD
  • Pursuing (or intent to pursue) USPTO Patent Agent/Attorney Registration
  • Demonstrated experience in RF/Analog circuit analysis and design.
  • Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet project requirements on schedule
  • Willingness to go beyond what’s required

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with Patent Portfolio Management under the guidance of the IP Licensing team
  • Supporting patent prosecution activities, including documentation, analysis and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Investigating and Applying AI Patent Tools to achieve company objectives
