USA for UNHCR’s vision is “a world where every person forced to flee can build a better future” and its mission is to protect and support refugees by mobilizing resources, elevating awareness, and driving action through a network of engaged supporters. The Integrated Partnerships team seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as an intern. This paid internship will provide excellent opportunities for contributing to USA for UNHCR’s mission and vision. The internship is open to undergraduate students who are in the process of completing any bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework and wish to gain exposure to institutional partnership development and community fundraising. The internship is an in-person 10-week assignment. The intern will be expected to work with the Integrated Partnerships team and participate in various programmatic team activities. The intern must embody USA for UNHCR values: Passionate, Data-Driven, Transparent, Forward-Thinking, Cutting Edge, and Dynamic. This paid internship runs from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Monday and Friday. The intern must be available for the entire 10-week duration. The internship is based at our office in NYC. Room and board are not included.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of relevant experience; undergraduate students who are in the process of completing any bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework and wish to gain exposure to institutional partnership development and community fundraising.
• Ability to be a quick and eager learner
• Strong research skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Ability to quickly learn new software and database programs
• Demonstrates passion; the willingness to go the extra mile and stellar customer service
• Well organized with proven ability to multi-task and manage their time
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrates passion for USA for UNHCR’s mission and humanitarian field
• Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
• Have high energy, clear goal orientation and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on potential Institutional Philanthropic Foundations and Civil Society Organizations to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
• Help maintain an active pipeline of prospective institutional foundations and civil society organizations.
• Support outreach by preparing background research, donor pipelines, partner profiles and briefing materials.
• Develop materials using online databases to engage prospects throughout the process of engagement.
• Support in developing donor materials, such as concept notes, briefing notes, presentations, proposals, and reports, as needed.
• Update and maintain partnership records in Salesforce.
• Support various administrative tasks and assist with ad-hoc Integrated Partnerships Team-related projects as assigned.
