About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our Operations team for Summer 2026. This internship is ideal for a sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field who is interested in hands-on experience in process improvement, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. As an intern, you’ll work closely with our engineering and operations leaders to support real-world projects that improve productivity, streamline workflows, enhance quality, and optimize resource utilization. You will gain exposure to lean methodologies, time studies, data analysis tools, and manufacturing/operations best practices.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools (Power BI, Minitab, or similar) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work full-time during Summer 2026.
  • This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States. Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement tools.
  • Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing or operations environments.
  • Creating a Capacity Model

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing operational processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow mapping, and waste analysis to support lean initiatives.
  • Support development of standard work instructions, visual controls, and process documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret operational data to support decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement events.
  • Create dashboards, charts, and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Support layout design, ergonomics assessments, and capacity planning.
  • Perform other engineering tasks as assigned to support ongoing projects within Operations.

  • The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $19/HR - $21/HR. Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
