About The Position

Selected team members will work collaboratively on procurement optimization projects for Whitehead Institute, a leading biomedical research organization. This role offers exposure to lab consumables, reagents, equipment, IT hardware, software and services procurement while developing analytical, project management, and client engagement skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at Northeastern University
• Active member of Northeastern Supply Chain Club
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Professional demeanor and reliability

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PowerBI, SQL, or other data analytics tools
• Coursework in supply chain management, operations, or procurement
• Previous internship or co-op experience in supply chain, operations, or consulting
• Some knowledge of life sciences or laboratory procurement environments
• Some project management experience

Responsibilities

• Analyze procurement processes and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Conduct supplier market research for IT hardware, software, lab consumables, reagents, equipment, and services
• Develop spend analytics and create data-driven insights using available tools
• Research and present best practices in negotiations and project management
• Collaborate with Whitehead Institute's Procurement and stakeholders to understand current challenges
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings and maintain continuous communication
• Deliver a comprehensive final presentation of findings and recommendations
