About The Position

The Student Hospitality Manager role is part of the Student Hospitality Management Program (SHMP), a structured development program designed to provide hands-on experience across multiple areas of hospitality operations while building leadership, customer service, and business skills. Each student is paired with a mentor to guide their learning and is expected to participate for the duration of the academic year. The Student Hospitality Manager works closely with their assigned mentor and the site management team to gain exposure to daily operations across departments such as, residential dining, retail, catering, and concessions. This role is developmental in nature, providing students with leadership experiences, project involvement, and operational insight while supporting the overall success of the account. Student Hospitality Managers are not solely responsible for supervising employees but will have opportunities to lead small teams or projects under their guidanceKey Learning & Development Areas Gain exposure to operational processes including opening/closing procedures, food preparation, customer service, and safety standards. Participate in structured rotations through various areas of the operation to build a broad hospitality skillset. Support the mentor and management team in daily operational tasks, learning how to manage staffing, product quality, and guest satisfaction. Assist in staff training activities and observe leadership approaches in real time. Contribute to special projects such as marketing events, sustainability initiatives, and client engagement activities. Develop skills in communication, problem-solving, and team leadership through practical assignments. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all safety standards and assisting with STEP observations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs Ability to walk or stand for extended time periods, up to 6 hours Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam and at other risk conditions At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic responsibilities, with evening and weekend shifts as required.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a hospitality, business, or related program (preferred but not required).
  • Strong interest in hospitality management and leadership.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
