Join us at Landis+Gyr, where we manage energy better! Welcome to Landis+Gyr!  We're at the forefront of the energy industry revolution - let's build a brighter energy future together!   Landis+Gyr is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to work on-site full-time hours Monday through Friday at our Pequot Lakes, Minnesota location. This is a paid internship but we don't provide housing assistance or relocation so will be considering local applicants.   Project Overview Selected student will work with Hardware/Firmware Development team to assist in the development/validation of communications technology and continued test environment support activities. (programming meters/modifications/tool creation/etc.)  At the end of the Intern period a presentation is to be given to the Director of Hardware Development. (summarizing development support activities and what was learned).

Requirements

  • MS Office suite
  • basic schematic and electrical component understanding
  • Coding experience with software such as C#/C++/Python/etc.
  • Applicants must be undergraduate students working towards their Bachelors degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering and have residence in or around the Pequot Lakes, MN area.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype Hardware debug and test
  • Design and test stand-alone hardware and/or Software in support of HW validation efforts
  • Prepare DUTs for test rounds
  • Acquire skills at operating typical lab test equipment and soldering
  • Collaborate with Development Engineers and Engineering Lab Technicians in support of HW development on-going projects
  • Prepare circuit simulations, circuit analysis, custom tool (SW) creation
