The Long Island Sensor Technology (LIST) group at Motorola Solutions, located in Melville, NY designs and manufactures IoT based products for the safety and security industry. The LIST Device Engineering team has developed the HALO, HALO Amplify and SentryERS products and continues to develop many more to add to the product portfolio. Within the Device Engineering team, the electrical engineering team applies hardware, firmware and software techniques to expand our product performance and provide added value to our customers. The LIST Device Engineering team Electrical Engineer intern will acquire hands-on experience through the testing and evaluation of hardware and software for HALO, SentryERS and other products. Participants will have the opportunity to work under the guidance and supervision of the engineering team on their assignments, but are expected to work individually. Interns will be responsible for recording test procedures, conducting tests, recording results and presenting their analysis to the engineering team.

  • Performance and Functional Testing for devices.
  • Regression Testing of product firmware.
  • Hardware inspection of First article and Prototypes.
  • Troubleshooting and assessment of returned equipment via RMA.
  • Test Fixture Hardware/Software Design.
  • Inventory and organizing of company property.
  • Process documentation updating.
  • Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
  • Students requiring current or future visa sponsorship must be pursuing a minimum of a Master's Degree with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
  • Thorough understanding of core electrical engineering concepts with an emphasis on circuit design, circuit topologies including transistors, digital & analog circuits, microprocessors, filters, board layout and manufacturing.
  • Excelled written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with report writing and presentation of technical data.
