About The Position

Join the Food & Beverage Team at Kohler Hospitality to ensure the highest standards of culinary excellence and guest safety. As a Food Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio, including world-class restaurants, boutique cafes, large-scale banquets, our signature chocolate/pastry kitchens, and Woodlake Market. You will work at the intersection of public health and five-star service, transforming our systems and driving real change. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development: Assist in refining food safety programs tailored to diverse environments, from fine dining to retail grocery. Operational Audits: Monitor procedures according to the FDA Food Code and Kohler’s internal standards; conduct BOH walk-throughs to ensure Active Managerial Control. Production Oversight: Support quality checks in pastry and chocolate production (temperature controls, allergen management, and ingredient integrity). Compliance & HACCP: Maintain daily records for Critical Control Points (CCPs), including sous-vide logs, cooling logs, and sanitization levels. Data & Analysis: Collect and analyze health inspection trends and audit scores to help prepare leadership presentations. Continuous Improvement: Recommend innovative ways to improve food safety culture and operational efficiency in a luxury setting. This is a seasonal position with shifts ranging between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Education: Completed Sophomore year at an accredited university (Food Science, Hospitality Management, or Public Health preferred).
  • Academic Standing: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with world-class chefs and hospitality staff.
  • Requirements: Reliable transportation between Kohler properties; ability to work in active kitchen environments (standing, walking, and wearing PPE/chef whites).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
