Since its launch in 2007, the Publix Summer Internship Program prepares a cohort of young professionals for a smorgasbord of opportunities in the workplace. This is achieved through relationship building, development of self-confidence, and insight into industry knowledge. The 2026 Summer program dates are May 18th – July 24th at our company facilities in Lakeland, FL. Over these 10 weeks, interns will work 40 hours a week participating in impactful departmental projects that connect classroom learning to real-world corporate experience. Candidates are encouraged to apply immediately. Position Overview Facilities Strategic Programs manages a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing our retail stores and overall shopping experience. These initiatives range from complete store remodels to the rollout of new equipment. The intern position for 2026 will be responsible for developing an electronic project reference tool. This tool will provide a consolidated view of all store activities by integrating data from both current and upcoming program and project implementation plans.

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in real estate, finance, marketing, business, computer programming or related field and be a current junior or above (rising senior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Flow, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
  • ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data from multiple sources
  • ability to analyze processes
  • ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance
  • current retail associate

Nice To Haves

  • advanced skills in Power BI or other BI

Responsibilities

  • learn about existing programs and projects that we oversee in Publix Facilities
  • utilize data from multiple sources that track program and project activity
  • propose a solution tool based upon review of the data, department processes, and technological resources available
  • develop and implement the approved solution tool
