About The Position
The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas is a leading civil rights organization in the Lone Star State. The ACLU of Texas invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for an internship in all departments. This internship will be held during summer 2026. Individuals passionate about civil liberties who are interested in developing skills in the social justice space and policy in the local and state context will find an internship with the ACLU of Texas as a rewarding learning experience. We are looking for individuals who are curious, creative, and detail-oriented; have strong critical thinking skills. This intern will work within the Executive department to strengthen quarterly strategic reporting, improve cross-departmental data synthesis, and support outcome-focused strategic plan reporting.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise summaries.
- Interest in strategy frameworks, logic models, or performance measurement.
- Comfort using AI tools responsibly for structured analysis and summarization.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects through completion.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Interest in nonprofit strategy, public policy, organizational management, or governance.
- A commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice.
- Commitment to the mission of the ACLU of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling and refining Quarterly Strategic Plan Reports.
- Support issue-area reporting using logic model frameworks.
- Identify trends, alignment gaps, and cross-functional contributions.
- Support tracking internal benchmarks and strategic indicators.
- Help develop clean reporting templates and structured submission tools.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining reporting datasets.
- Contribute to improving clarity and consistency across board-facing materials.
- Assist in developing structured AI prompts to support summarization and pattern recognition.
- Help streamline reporting workflows to reduce duplication and improve efficiency.
- Maintain documentation of reporting processes and refinements.
