Intern - Ex-Vivo Clinical Specialists
About The Position
Here at Lung Bioengineering (a wholly owned subsidiary of United Therapeutics), our mission is to increase the availability and suitability of organs for transplant. Ex-Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) is a procedure used by transplant teams to evaluate lungs outside the body, providing essential information on lungs that may not initially appear suitable for transplant. Our EVLP Clinical Specialists play a vital role in this process, working closely with transplant surgeons to provide hands-on assessments and detailed data on the condition of the lungs. This crucial information helps surgeons determine the suitability of lungs for transplantation. Involvement in EVLP case and facility readiness, data collection and analysis for donor demographics, and EVLP and recipient outcomes. Participation in clinical case debriefs. Participation in the preparation and execution of in-house training. There may also be opportunities to participate in regulatory, quality, training, and commercialization learning environments.
Requirements
- Must actively be a college student (including rising sophomores or those pursuing a 2-year degree).
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite in the Silver Spring, MD office
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite
