Intern- Equipment Maintenance Technician Reports to: EHS Manager Hours/schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00a-4:30p (10-12 weeks) Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Green Card Holder. We can not sponsor Visas. We are seeking a motivated Electronics Equipment Maintenance Intern to support our manufacturing and engineering operations over a 10–12 week period. This role is ideal for students pursuing electrical engineering, electronics technology, industrial engineering, or related fields who want hands-on experience with production equipment, preventive maintenance, and hardware lifecycle management. The intern will work closely with technicians and engineers to assist with equipment moves, basic troubleshooting, component-level recovery, and inventory management of spare and retired hardware.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, or computer hardware.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic tools (training provided).
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • We are an ITAR Controlled Facility; all applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Windows imaging and backups.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, switches, cabling).
  • Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar tools.
  • Interest in manufacturing, automation, or equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians with line moves, including disconnecting, relocating, and reconnecting production equipment.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks under supervision (cleaning, inspections, simple adjustments).
  • Support equipment recovery and repair, including identifying faulty components and replacing or removing parts.
  • Remove usable components from decommissioned machines for spare-parts harvesting.
  • Maintain and update inventory of spare equipment, harvested components, and consumables.
  • Organize and document used parts for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
  • Assist in the disposition of obsolete or end-of-life equipment, following company procedures.
  • Support data recovery and system backups for equipment being serviced, moved, or decommissioned.
  • Assist with basic machine-related networking tasks, such as verifying connectivity, labeling cables, and updating network documentation.
  • Record maintenance activities, part usage, and equipment status in internal tracking systems.
  • Help update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance checklists as needed.
