We are currently seeking an Intern, Environmental Scientist or Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This role will be based out of our Independence, OH office location.

Requirements

Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
Candidate should be enrolled in a geology, geoscience, or environmental science educational program (undergraduate or graduate).
This position will require travel to job sites within Ohio and surrounding states, and working outside of the office 90% of the time.
The position may include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of field equipment unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal-protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule may include early mornings, depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
Assist scientists, engineers, and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization programs on various environmental projects.
Assist with evaluation of subsurface geologic and environmental data.
Collection and analysis of water and soil samples.
Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group.
Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course where required
Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
Driver’s license preferred.
Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis.
Other duties as assigned.
