We are currently seeking an Intern, Environmental Scientist or Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This role will be based out of our Independence, OH office location.

Requirements

  • Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
  • Candidate should be enrolled in a geology, geoscience, or environmental science educational program (undergraduate or graduate).
  • This position will require travel to job sites within Ohio and surrounding states, and working outside of the office 90% of the time.
  • The position may include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of field equipment unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal-protective equipment (PPE).
  • Schedule may include early mornings, depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
  • Assist scientists, engineers, and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization programs on various environmental projects.
  • Assist with evaluation of subsurface geologic and environmental data.
  • Collection and analysis of water and soil samples.
  • Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group.
  • Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course where required
  • Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
  • Driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
