We are currently seeking an Intern, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This is a temporary position with an approximate 3-month duration starting in May/June 2026. This role will be based in our Rochester, NY office.

Requirements

  • Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
  • Candidate should be enrolled in a geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related program (undergraduate or graduate).
  • This position will require travel to job sites within the Greater Rochester area and working outside of the office 90% of the time.
  • The position may include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of field equipment unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal-protective equipment (PPE).
  • Schedule may include early mornings, depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in an office and field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
  • Assist Project Managers and technical staff with the planning and execution of various projects including contaminated site investigation, natural resource permitting, geotechnical investigation, renewable energy, and construction projects.
  • Perform various research tasks.
  • Assist technical staff with collecting soil and groundwater samples.
  • Assist with summarizing and evaluating subsurface geotechnical and environmental information and laboratory analytical data.
  • Assist our construction monitoring service group at construction sites.
  • Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course, as required.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 weeks preferred).
  • Other duties as assigned.
