About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, a Koniag Government Services company, is looking for an intern to support our Enterprise Platform Team. The Enterprise Platform Team Intern supports project manager and a cross-platform engineering team responsible for AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint services. This role focuses primarily on back-office, coordination, and administrative activities, with opportunities to assist in technical and engineering support tasks as skills and availability allow. Key Responsibilities: Administrative & Operational Support (Primary Focus) Support project coordination activities including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, note-taking, and action-item tracking Maintain project documentation, trackers, and status reports in SharePoint, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools Assist with onboarding/offboarding workflows, access requests, and approval tracking across enterprise platforms Help manage vendor, intake, and request workflows by validating completeness and routing requests appropriately Support reporting activities (e.g., milestone tracking, basic metrics, and status dashboards) Platform & Technical Support (Secondary / Developmental Focus) Assist engineers with routine platform tasks such as documentation updates, configuration validation, and inventory tracking Support non-production or low-risk activities in AWS and Azure under supervision (e.g., account hygiene, tagging validation, permissions review support) Assist with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint site organization, permissions management, and content updates Help test workflows, scripts, or automation developed by the engineering team (no independent production changes) Learning & Professional Development Gain exposure to enterprise cloud platforms, identity and access management, and platform governance practices Learn how large-scale IT programs are planned, tracked, and reported in an enterprise environment Participate in team ceremonies, planning sessions, and retrospectives as appropriate

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with documentation, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud concepts (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Interest in enterprise IT, platform engineering, or technical program management
  • Prior internship, lab, or coursework involving cloud or systems administration
