The Mechanical Analysis team within our Space & Defense Group is seeking a summer 2026 block intern. The intern will have an onsite work schedule in Elma, NY . Students within the Moog U.S. Internship Program are expected to have a professional disposition, effective communication skills, a strong desire to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or other relevant Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program, at an accredited university.
• GPA of at least 3.0 ; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department.
• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
• Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key Mechanical Analysis engineering tasks at Moog
• Provide technical support to SDG groups across the US, as needed.
• Work experience may include finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis , general material characteristics , 3-D modeling, data reporting, and/or design and development modifications based on the student's educational discipline.
• Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
• Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results.
• Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals.
• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation.
