POSITION SUMMARY An entry level position for a high energy, detail oriented and organized individual pursing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field of study. This role will focus on routine problems to the Engineering Support Team. Gains an overall knowledge and technical proficiency in engineering with departmental objectives. Local candidates only - must live in the local area within an hour of Troy, Indiana. Role is considered temporary for 12 weeks in the summer, 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Sophomore or higher class standing preferred.
  • Ability to work in person during summer break full-time.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

Responsibilities

  • Helps develop and implement improvements in processes and safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Maintains an action register and responsible for weekly updates on progress.
  • Participates in problem solving training on site.
  • Assists with implementing new tooling.
  • Able to work independently on small projects such as drafting, 3D printing, assembly of new tools/ fixtures).
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
