Position overview: As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) team you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team. You will participate in a wide range of design activities and help with developing the control panel design, performing calculations related to instrumentation selection, developing process control documents and generating PLC/HMI programs for cutting-edge water and wastewater treatment systems.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
Passion for the environment and water treatment.
Self-motivated, quick to deliver, and a team player.
Able to demonstrate a dedication to safety and effective problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and through technical writing.
Comfortable with a fast-paced, collaborative, work environment.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with co-workers.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
Understanding of basic water chemistry and/or treatment processes.
Understanding of process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), process controls, and electrical design concepts.
Water treatment experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in project design review meetings.
Help create single line diagrams, load lists and control panel schematic drawings.
Perform required calculations to select the appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities and prepare supporting documentation (instrument & valve lists, instrument & valve datasheets, instrument installation diagrams, etc.).
Develop controls documents and PLC/HMI Programs for water and wastewater treatment systems.
Contribute to the development of company standards and templates.
Develop team productivity tools.
Support with project issue resolution related to design, start-up and performance.
