We are looking to bring on an Intern, Early College STEM assisting engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is a paid temporary role ($20/hour), that will be at least six weeks, 20 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & half day Thursday). The anticipated start date for this position is June/July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, working field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This is a part-time position located in our Boston, MA office.

Requirements

  • Candidate should have a high school diploma and at least one semester of college credits.
  • Candidate should be enrolled in college and majoring in engineering, environmental science, or a related field with an interest in exploring a career in civil or environmental engineering/science.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to work for six consecutive weeks part-time during the Summer 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about consulting, civil engineering (and specific geotechnical and environmental disciplines), and how to communicate in a professional setting.
  • Learn how to use current technologies including geospatial mapping tools (e.g. GPS) and widely used industry software (e.g. Bluebeam).
  • Job shadow in a support role, working on interesting and technically challenging projects in the Metro and Greater Boston area.
  • Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and environmental data.
  • Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist and/or learn in the field with our field services group.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 40 certification.
