About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join the
Components and Systems team for Summer 2026. In this role, you will gain
hands-on experience in component testing, detailed assembly processes, and
design reviews while working alongside industry professionals, and contribute to
meaningful projects that support our team and company objectives.

Requirements

• Education: Enrolled in a 4-year engineering program.
• Experience: Completion of 1 year towards bachelor’s degree.
• Majors: Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar)
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
• Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and time management.
• Internship Duration: 10 – 14 weeks.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in Office 365 and Python is a plus.
• Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis. Implement SPC on existing processes and develop department BI reports to display data.
• Assist PE with conducting work instruction reviews and implementation of process improvements.
• Identify potential AI based solutions for improved efficiency within the department.
• Other general QA testing and characterization of optical assemblies
• Laser testing of production parts.
• Recording testing results into database.
• Assist in 5S program.
• Work with Oracle.
• Assist in department transfer activities to offshore facilities.
