About The Position

The Community Impact Intern supports the execution of the Bank’s community engagement and philanthropic initiatives. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and event planning. This role entails having strong organizational skills, excellent research and writing abilities, and a passion for making a positive impact. This position is based on-site at our headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 0–1 year of relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience in event planning preferred
  • Ability to create compelling written and visual content for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
  • Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach

Nice To Haves

  • 0–1 year of relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience in event planning preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the VP, Public Affairs on projects that advance Forbright Bank’s community impact initiatives
  • Assist in planning and executing the Sustainable Solutions Summit (must be available the week leading up to and the week of June 22–26, 2026)
  • Support planning and coordination of Volunteer Month and other employee volunteer engagements
  • Conduct research and assist with the development and execution of the corporate grant-making program
  • Track and report key metrics for community impact programs, including volunteer hours, grant allocations, and sustainability benchmarks
  • Monitor progress toward corporate sustainability and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) goals
  • Prepare documentation for CRA compliance and annual sustainability reporting
  • Contribute to content creation for internal newsletters, social media, and CSR reports to highlight community initiatives
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative approaches for community engagement and philanthropic impact
  • Perform other duties as assigned
