Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited college/university of pharmacy.
  • Valid pharmacist intern license from the Board of Pharmacy of the State of Texas OR valid pharmacy technician license from the Board of Pharmacy of the State of Texas.
  • Current/active BLS/CPR.
  • Computer experience with Windows, Excel, and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Certification in immunization delivery, smoking cessation, and naloxone preferred.
  • Experience in/knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Geriatrics, and/or Pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic dispensing tasks including data entry, medication preparation, and sales completion.
  • Conduct patient counseling and outreach for the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Ensure medication orders and prescriptions are appropriate for patient diagnoses.
  • Practice pharmacy in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Review patient profiles for accurate drug selection and dosage.
  • Document adverse drug reactions and patient interactions.
  • Provide drug information and assess medication adherence.
  • Administer immunizations, if qualified.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
