About The Position

Embark on a transformative paid internship with Georgia's largest and busiest Superior and Magistrate Court Clerk's Office. This program is geared towards college students that are pursuing a degree in Political Science, Pre-Law, and/or Public Policy. This opportunity will secure and strengthen relationships between the Clerk's Office and government leaders. We draw on our unique mix of experience in politics, private industry, government and professional associations to steer legislation to mobilize community organizations and political communities to expose students to our judicial system and public policy. Program Highlights: Exposure: Interns will gain expose to the Georgia Legislative process by interacting with State Legislators. Mentorship: Engage with seasoned professionals who will guide and mentor you throughout the internship, fostering both personal and professional growth. Professional Development: Participate in committee hearings, legislative sessions, and town-hall meetings. Community Education/Outreach: Will participate in Clerk's Office community engagement and outreach initiatives.

  • Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in a degree program related to Political Science, Pre-Law, and/or Public Policy with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Commit to a minimum of 20 to 30 hours of in-person work during the duration of program.
  • Must be able to register as a lobbyist within first week of employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the courthouse.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team with maintaining databases and spreadsheets
  • Event coordination
  • Committee hearing coverage
  • Maintaining tracking documents
  • Providing office and administrative support
  • Assisting with daily administrative tasks to support the team.
  • Conducting research and gathering data for projects and initiatives.
  • Helping to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Participating in team meeting and contributing ideas.
  • Shadowing professionals to learn best practices.
  • Support marketing and outreach methods as needed.
