Internship Period: Summer of 2026, May 26th - July 31st The Business Loan Center - Intern works inside the Business Loan Center department, learning skills needed to perform financial analysis and loan package preparation for commercial loan requests and other loan underwriting activities and duties. The internship program aims to teach students an understanding of the job responsibilities in the Credit Underwriting financial field. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Inputs financial data into respective spreadsheets. 2. Aids in compiling loan packages. 3. Assists loan underwriters with miscellaneous loan reporting. 4. Attends various meetings to learn about bank functions and the loan origination process. 5. Create an understanding of the appraisal process. 6. Learn and develop an understanding of the analysis and approval of commercial loans. 7. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 8. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. 9. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature.
