The Global Business Development (GBD) summer intern will join a dynamic team focused on advancing ASTM International’s strategic initiatives and global partnerships. Working 20–35 hours per week in a hybrid setting (remote and/or at the DC or HQ offices as needed), the intern will support the GBD team by: Assisting with research projects and assignments related to business development opportunities and industry trends. Gathering and synthesizing business intelligence on assigned topics, markets, or target organizations. Updating contacts, accounts, and corporate hierarchies in the CRM system to ensure data accuracy and support outreach efforts. Utilizing in-house reporting tools and business systems to collect and organize information on standards and training-related activities. Providing analysis and preparing concise reports or presentations for the team as assigned. This position is designed for a rising junior or senior undergraduate student with a strong interest in business, marketing, or management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior with a concentration in Business or Marketing
  • Background in Business or Management with a strong interest in business development.
  • Knowledge working with IT systems and MSFT Office.
  • Must have exceptional high quality written and spoken English skills.
  • Must be able to set priorities and communicate effectively in a high volume environment.
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Good communicator and good listener - strong ability to build a rapport with colleagues.
  • Well organized. Good planner. Attention to detail.
  • Professional image: Candidate will represent the ASTM brand and may be outward facing at times.
  • Must be enrolled in a related Bachelor’s degree program as a rising Junior or Senior at an accredited College or University.

Responsibilities

  • Assist GBD team with research projects and assignments
  • Obtain business intelligence on assigned topics or targets
  • Update contacts, accounts and corporate hierarchies in the CRM system
  • Utilize in-house reporting tools and business systems to gather information on existing standards and training related activities
  • Provide analysis as assigned
