About The Position

The Opportunity Denali is seeking an Intern for the Bioprocess Development group in Technical Operations. This position will be a hands-on laboratory position with a focus on optimizing conditions for Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines for expression of complex therapeutic proteins. The candidate will get exposure to suspension cell culture and single use bioreactors. This is an exciting opportunity to get an overview of biologics process development and manufacturing. The intern must be self-driven, organized, collaborative and able to communicate clearly and thrive in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates pursuing a BS or MS in Biology, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory skills such as pipetting, material weighting, etc.
  • Previous hands-on lab experience with mammalian cell culture including aseptic techniques is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Self- and results-driven, organized, resourceful, adaptable and collaborative
  • Bold and creative thinker with a curious nature, eager to learn about the complexities of the business of healthcare and biotech
  • Evident communication and analytical skills
  • High degree of proficiency with the MS Office Suite or Google equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of Denali scientists to design, execute and interpret cell culture experiments
  • Perform and analyze shake flask and lab-scale bioreactor fed-batch production experiments
  • Learn to use cell culture lab instruments such as such as Vi-Cell, Nova Flex2 and Octet
  • Analyze results and present work to bioprocess development group
