About The Position

Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Aviation Intern is to assist in project activities of the department and learn the key operating procedures of the departmental tasks as assigned. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Sands Aviation, LLC policies, practices, and procedures. All Sands Aviation, LLC Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Aviation Intern can expect to gain exposure and operational understanding of: Domestic and International Flight Planning and Operations Aircraft Maintenance Aircraft Scheduling Crew Scheduling Safety Management Systems Security FAA and Bermuda Compliance The intern will perform various office duties and work with company mentors to complete special projects. The intern may go on observation flights to understand operational requirements for a corporate flight department. Ability to interact and communicate appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts. Safety is an essential function of this job. Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Enroll in an aviation degree program or pursuing a pilot license
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to: Lift or carry 30 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned
  • Physically access all areas of the property with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke
