Intern - Aviation Planning (Summer 2026)

This opportunity entails being under close supervision, assist departments by performing basic assignments in the areas including, but not limited to Science, Planning, Technology. This position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis. HNTB's industry-leading aviation planning team is seeking intern Aviation Planners for Summer 2026 in our Oakland, CA office. The successful candidate has a strong interest in aviation, strong critical thinking skills, and a desire to grow in this exciting industry. Candidates will have access to excellent mentorship and professional development opportunities. Relocation and housing are not provided for these positions.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program
Nice To Haves
- Currently pursuing Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Urban Design, Geography or related field.
- Experience or strong interest in the aviation industry.
- Extensive AutoCAD experience.
Responsibilities
- Assists project team members with various support tasks.
- Conducts basic research and data collection.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
- Performs other duties assigned.
