This position offers an intern(s) the opportunity to work and gain an applicable working knowledge of the asset management and property management functions in support of the Property Management, Real Estate Development, or related programs at Virginia Tech. This internship will provide networking opportunities, exposure to a variety of positions in the field of affordable housing, and the chance to develop a deeper understanding of what it is to work for a large non-profit organization. The intern will work remotely and in person for a set period of time, hours determined based on semester availability. Interns may have the opportunity to work in person at various CHP property locations as deemed reasonable per the student’s course schedule. Work hours will be managed to accommodate the student’s course schedule. At least one meeting per work week with the internship supervisor is required, and if the intern expresses an interest in learning about other aspects of CHP’s work, every effort will be made to provide additional exposure. This opportunity is available for one semester. Job Objectives Develop a foundational, working knowledge of asset management and property management functions that support Property Management, Real Estate Development, and related programs at Virginia Tech. Shadow and support core asset and property management processes while completing assigned projects accurately and on time. Gain a working understanding of affordable housing regulations, reporting requirements, and operational workflows through hands-on experience and supervisor feedback.
