About The Position

Join Hologic’s Breast and Skeletal Health division, where we’re leading the way in women’s health technology. As an AI & Imaging Intern, you’ll spend 10–12 weeks working with real medical imaging data and AI tools that support breast cancer detection. You’ll partner with experienced engineers and scientists, contribute to meaningful projects, and see how your work can help physicians make more confident decisions for patients around the world. Requirements

  • You can work full-time during the summer (June - August).
  • You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree, with at least one semester left after the internship.
  • Your major is in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or something similar.
  • You’re heading into your junior or senior year.
  • You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking.
  • You’re comfortable coding in Python and are curious about tools like Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
  • You’re interested in machine learning, deep learning (PyTorch or TensorFlow), and how AI can be used in healthcare.
  • You enjoy solving complex problems and are motivated by work that can have real impact on patients’ lives.

Responsibilities

  • Help design and build machine learning workflows for medical imaging datasets.
  • Work with 3D mammography images to clean data, explore patterns, and support analysis.
  • Assist with testing AI models, comparing performance, and helping improve accuracy.
  • Partner with engineers and product team members to move projects forward.
  • Document your work and share what you’ve learned with the team through presentations.
