WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING An Agriculture Intern will gain experience and learn essential agricultural skills by interacting with the company’s agricultural producers and field personnel in the areas of crop planting and management, evaluation of plant growth and development, and conducting research trials and other related projects. Day to day responsibilities: Participate in field scouting to evaluate bean fields for growth & development, pest problems, irrigation management and overall plant health Assist with research plots evaluating different varieties or other factors. Collaborate with seed providers and bean growers during the growing season Develop handouts, social media content and other materials for our team and/or bean growers Performs other duties as assigned by management. Our Ag interns are expected to be on-site daily, typically 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Some weekends may be required based on the business needs. Travel can be expected as well to other facilities and for meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent required
  • Must be perusing or actively enrolled in a four-year accredited school, with a major in Agricultural Business, Soil and Crop Science, Seed Breeding, Operations Management, Food Science or related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Willingness to live in the area of the designated Trinidad Benham plant during the internship.
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing and agricultural environment.
  • Must have a clean motor vehicle record and valid driver’s license.
  • Successful candidates will have demonstrated leadership, persuasive and analytical skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities
