The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc. offers one of the most premier actuarial summer internship programs in the nation, designed to prepare you for a challenging and rewarding actuarial career. During this competitive 12 week program, you and your fellow interns will become part of a highly respected actuarial community at a leading Fortune 500 company, undertaking challenging and exciting assignments while sharpening your technical, communication and leadership skills. Interns work throughout all actuarial departments including both Property and Casualty businesses and Employee Benefits. Challenging performance objectives ensure that the work you do will be valuable to both you and The Hartford. Interns are exposed to a variety of actuarial functions including: personal and commercial insurance pricing, corporate reserving, data science, enterprise risk management, employee benefits, and more. Our calendar of events is structured with fantastic training in R coding, insurance terminology and technologies used by the actuarial department. All interns are able to make active contributions towards supporting our culture. The program also includes a number of unforgettable team building and social events that let you meet and interact with all members of our large actuarial community. This is a part-time internship with the requirement to work 16 hours weekly during business hours either 100% remote OR hybrid if local to Hartford CT

Requirements

  • Must be well-rounded, driven candidates who possess excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills.
  • To be considered for this program, candidates should be pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in a math, economics, finance, and/or science related field.
  • Candidates should have passed at least one actuarial exam.
