About The Position

The Paid Summer internship will provide research and organizational support to the Director of Finance. The role will include administrative tasks, with exposure to the full scope of the transaction side of real estate investment and asset management. The position responsibilities will include:

Requirements

Sophomore, Junior acquiring a degree in the following: accounting, business, economics, mathematics, finance, real estate.
Must have strong work ethics.
Must be well organized and a self-starter.
Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
Basic understanding of Windows.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Basic problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills a plus
Basic understanding of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Dependable and reliable a MUST
Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately.
Must have own housing and transportation

Excel experience a plus

Responsibilities

Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices, up to 100 plus line items
Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
Process check requests
Audit and process credit card bills
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
1099 maintenance
Respond to all vendor inquiries
Assist in month end closing
Assist with other projects as needed
