Software is an integral part in realizing this vision and we are hiring a software manager to play a leadership role shaping our future. As an Accounting Intern at EVgo, you will gain hands-on experience supporting a publicly traded company in a fast-growing industry. This role offers exposure to real-world accounting processes including revenue and cost reconciliations, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and cross-functional projects. You will work closely with experienced accounting professionals and gain insight into month-end close, GAAP application, and operational accounting within a complex, project-based environment. This is a year round internship. The Accounting Intern will support the Accounting team with key reconciliation and analysis activities related to retail revenues, extended project revenues and costs, and general ledger accounts. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or a student close to graduation who is looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Fundamental understanding of U.S. GAAP and basic accounting principles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Internship or coursework experience in accounting, audit, or finance
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems or ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite)
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, or financial analysis
  • Interest in the renewable energy, EV, or infrastructure space

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile EVgo extend project revenues and costs by project, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing
  • Assist in reconciling retail revenue streams and investigating variances
  • Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Assist with balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Support ad hoc accounting projects and data analysis requests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial information
  • Maintain organized workpapers and documentation to support audit and internal review requirements
  • Assist with month-end close activities as needed
