About The Position

The Intern, Accounting will support the Accounting team in executing core accounting functions and driving process improvements. This role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and cross-functional projects, including accounting automation initiatives. We're thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA. As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
  • Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.
  • Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, coding, and vendor inquiries/payments
  • Contribute to month-end close activities, including schedules and supporting documentation
  • Assist with preparation and completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Partner with team members on accounting projects, including process improvement and automation efforts
  • Help coordinate and track project progress for accounting initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • Assist in transforming existing processes into standardized operating procedures (SOPs), including documenting workflows and maintaining process documentation
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team (filing, documentation, reporting)
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects as needed
