About The Position

This position will expose the student to the workings of a financial institution. The student will assist in the organization and maintenance of key areas of the institution. This can include a range of technical projects to helping with daily tasks that support the student’s learning. The internship will focus on one or more of the following areas: retail, lending, information systems, accounting, marketing, wealth management and human resources.

Requirements

  • College-level student
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical principles (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals) in account transactions.
  • Knowledge of the layout and functions of the computer keyboard and ten key adding machine; skill of using the touch system to perform data input.
  • Skill in working with the public, presenting a professional image of the bank, and servicing prospective and current customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Knowledge/experience of business software programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists staff members in the execution of tasks identified for the specific internship.
  • Documents work completed and reviews with appropriate officer.
  • Provides technical support in areas of expertise.
  • Supports area by completing filing of documents and any other recordkeeping responsibilities.
  • Shadow other staff members to help understand the work processes in identified department.
  • Becomes knowledgeable about the company’s structure and operations.
  • Provides clerical support by preparing correspondence, duplicating, compiling, inspecting, collating and filing documents, if needed.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Attends mandatory compliance and security sessions.
  • Monitors daily work for adherence to compliance and security regulations, policies/procedures, and promptly corrects any deficiencies.
