About The Position

As an Intern, Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting financial planning and analysis activities while applying your academic knowledge in a professional setting. You’ll work closely with experienced finance professionals, collaborate across teams, and contribute to meaningful projects that support EquiTrust’s business goals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree related to accounting, finance, or a similar field
• Coursework or academic experience relevant to accounting, finance, or financial analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Openness to feedback and adaptability in a professional environment
• Commitment to working in a way that aligns with EquiTrust’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, leadership, and passion
• Primarily sedentary work requiring extended periods of sitting
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, and light lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
• Regular use of a computer and standard office equipment

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial analysis by gathering data, organizing inputs, and preparing preliminary variance observations with team guidance
• Support forecast and planning updates by refreshing assumptions, schedules, and basic financial model components
• Help refresh and validate Power BI dashboards by pulling data, running checks, and performing basic troubleshooting
• Research and help resolve issues using problem-solving and analytical skills
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support department and company objectives
• Collaborate with team members while contributing to a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment
